Originally a Tobacco Factory, Dovers Building was constructed in 1909 and designed by Hugh Ralston Crawford. An extra 2 storeys were added on in 1938 and has since been converted into apartments.
This print is part of an ongoing poster series exploring the iconic and sometimes understated architecture of Melbourne.
Each poster is digitally illustrated by hand and stripped of the everyday noise that normally surrounds these buildings. Doing this allows you to view the building with a sense of calm and isolation and experience the design in a way in which the architects skill is fully appreciated.
